_the way to the end of the earth
"The individuality of this work lies in the processing depth, which goes far beyond conventional questions of architecture" Prof. Michael Schanné.

This work deals philosophically and practically with the basic questions of life and the being of men. On the basis of personal experiences during a pilgrimage on the portuguese St. James trail from Porto to the Cape Finisterre, this work analyzes the importance of space and architecture for humans.

Architectural elements surrounding human beings are transferred to the questions of life, in order to show the individual a direction of one's own path and to find personal answers.

Abstract and philosophical questions of architecture become the essential elements of dealing with space, which not only surrounds men, but also influences his thinking.

The analysis of the natural elements surrounding humans is translated and brought into the architectural context. This approach creates the basis for a deeper understanding of space, which is of the utmost importance in conception and design.

The actual design at Cape Finisterre consists of a conceptual spatial sequence that supports the viewer in his search fort he ego.

The design of different places of transformation, like the arrival, the inner contemplation, the meditation, as well as the natural view, creates an awareness for the place and the own human being.
